Nicknamed the “Lake City,” Acworth is built over a large underground aquifer. One of the town’s main attractions is Acworth Beach, located on nearby Lake Allatoona and Lake Acworth. The lakes provide an exciting range of outdoor activities, from picnicking to boating and water sports.

Acworth is also home to Kennworth Park, situated between Kennesaw and Acworth and operated by Cobb County.  The park features baseball, softball, tennis, and a playground, and is also home to the Kennesaw Bandits.  The Acworth Sports Complex is located adjacent to Kennesaw Park and contains several baseball fields and a football field.  Coats and Clark field with several baseball fields is located about one mile north.The areas many parks and thriving youth athletics programs make Acworth, Georgia real estate extremely attractive to young families.

Thanks to its many recreation and leisure amenities, Acworth has seen impressive growth over the past decade.  As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 13,422.  By 2011, the population had increased  by 52.6% to 20,476. Even with rapid growth, Acworth has maintained a friendly, small town vibe that continues to charm home buyers and visitors alike.
